FMA June Update image 1

It looks like Summer is finally here and we can put away the shoes and jeans and get out the shorts and flip flops. Unfortunately the beautiful sunshine does not mean our work with abandoned animals stops or gets any easier. May saw a new cooperation between FMA and a group dedicated to improving the lives of dogs in puppy farms. Working with the breeders is the first step to a better life for these dogs, who very often suffer physical and mental problems due to their incarceration. Filidelphia, Spencer and Chanel are three such dogs and our now under our wing. We hope that this is just the start of an ongoing relationship.

Although many of our dogs get snapped up and end up in wonderful homes both here and in the Uk, Germany, Sweden, Italy and Holland, to name but a few, there are always some who seem to be left behind with little or no interest at all. We are still trying to bring Cash into the FMA family who at the moment spends most of his time alone at home. He has epilepsy but this is controlled by medication, and he is otherwise healthy. Another dog left behind is Josh who has spent far too long in kennels now and needs a family to call his own. Surrendered into the Perrera many months ago but now out and under our wing, his story is a little complex but you can read all about him on our Facebook page. You can find both Josh and Cash in our adoption album along with other dogs looking for new homes.
We also mustn’t forget our gorgeous feline friends looking for homes too, Cuca, Toby and Lottie. If you are interested in adopting a cat please let us know. All three are gorgeous and deserve new homes.
Fund raising events continued at pace with our volunteers working tirelessly at musical events and markets. We cannot thank them enough for giving up their Fridays and Saturdays to support the charity. Please keep following our Facebook page so you are the first to know what’s happening where and when. We mustn’t forget the 100 club that continues to be a popular watch on a Friday at 8. Remember you’ve got to be in it to win it!

Please contact the team at FMA for more information about us and our work.
