Dear Readers,

The cooler evenings have come as quite a relief and turns our minds towards the celebrations awaiting us through autumn and winter. With Halloween on its way we look at the traditions in Spain surrounding this 3-day celebration.

The rollercoaster of covid continues with various ebbs and flows in different areas. The need to remain vigilant on complying with the regulations is our main defence.

The current situation affects so many including our fund-raising events. I was planning to publish the sponsorship form for Race for Life in the October edition, however there is uncertainty that the event will take place. Mabs are busy finding an alternative fund raiser and will keep me posted. I hope to be able to let you know how we can all support Mabs and any other organisation within our community.

We have all spent more time in our homes and some have been cooking up a storm. I would like to ask if anyone has tried any of the recipes and if so to let me know how you have got on. Photos are always very welcome. Also please let me know if you have had any kitchen disasters? For all the recipes from The Journal, please go to

I will leave you to read and enjoy……
